Is this a weird choice? I saw The Ruins in the theater with my sister and I decided to hate it. Then I read the book. Then I randomly bought the DVD at Blockbuster for reasons I'm not aware of.
Then I watched it again. And another time. And then I was forced to admit that I actually like this movie. Maybe it was the reading of the book, which tied everything together. Maybe it just grew on me. But I will say that I like The Ruins. Even when they cut that guy's leg off. Badass.
