I can talk fairly endlessly about my love for The Stand. I've read the book dozens of times, and I discovered my love for the TV miniseries at a friend's house when I was a teenager. Her mom had taped the series when it was on TV (remember those days?) and we stayed up all night watching it.
In my opinion, the actors that played the characters from King's book were so perfect in every way. I heard that a remake might be in the works, and I just can't imagine anyone else playing Nadine, or Stu, or Frannie....or especially, Mother Abigail. This movie was literally a perfect storm of casting, writing, and timing. I bought the DVD set years later, and I still enjoy this series at least once a year on a snowy day.

I agree. The Stand is my favorite King book and my favorite King movie. To really do the book justice, though, that movie would have had to be at least twice as long. Maybe a series of The Stand would be a good idea.
